'Dhurandhar 2' made for theaters, says PVR INOX CEO
What's the story
The upcoming Bollywood film, Dhurandhar 2, will be screened in a wider network of PVR INOX cinemas across India. Gautam Dutta, CEO-Growth and Revenue of the multiplex chain, told Variety India that the film is "made for the scale, sound and emotion that only cinemas can deliver." He added, "We look forward to welcoming audiences for what promises to be a spectacular cinematic celebration."
Breaking records
'Dhurandhar 2' beats 'Stree 2'
Dhurandhar 2 has reportedly broken the record for the highest-grossing paid preview shows by a Hindi film. The Aditya Dhar directorial has sold over 1,50,000 advance tickets through PVR INOX alone. This figure surpasses the previous record held by Stree 2 and positions Dhurandhar 2 as a strong contender to beat Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG in the same category.
Anticipated success
Dutta on advance ticket sales
Dutta also expressed his excitement over the film's record-breaking pre-release ticket sales. He said, "We have already surpassed 150,000 tickets in advance sales, and we are anticipating full-capacity audiences for the preview screenings of Dhurandhar: The Revenge nationwide." "This overwhelming response confirms that people are clearly choosing the big screen to experience this story first." "It is incredibly encouraging to see such a strong start even before the formal release date."
