#MeToo: Kailash Kher apologizes for sexual misconduct, calls it 'misconstrued'

Renowned singer Kailash Kher, whose name was tagged in with the much-heated #MeToo movement, has apologized for his sexual misconduct. Kailash was accused of sexual harassment by a journalist and later by singer Sona Mohapatra. The ladies, in different events, alleged that the singer had touched them inappropriately. Talking about the sexual harassment allegations, Kailash said that he apologizes for anything that was 'misconstrued'.

Kailash doesn't remember any such incident

In his statement, Kailash said that he respects every woman especially the one working in media as it is a tough job. While he was disappointed with the reports, Kailash said, "I am neither aware of the acts that have been mentioned nor remember it". The singer further mentioned that in any case he apologizes if anyone 'misconstrued his intentions'.

Allegation 1: Female journalist had accused Kailash of sexual misconduct

Kailash Kher's name cropped up in the ongoing sexual harassment debate after a female journalist accused him of sexual misconduct. The victim claimed that the singer touched her inappropriately during an interview. "During the interview, this creep sat between us as close to us as he could. He also kept putting his hands on our thighs (on the skin above our skirts)," she said.

Kailash Kher disappointed millions of fans

Allegation 2: Sona Mohaptra accused Kailash, called him 'shameless'

In a series of tweets, Sona Mohapatra also alleged that Kailash touched her inappropriately during an official meeting. She said that Kailash placed his hands on her thighs with lines like "you're so beautiful, feel so good that a 'musician got you', not an actor." Sona also alleged that Kailash even invited her to his hotel room with nasty intentions.

Sona Mohapatra narrates her sexual harassment ordeal

    (1) I met Kailash for coffee in Prithvi Café to discuss a forthcoming concert where both our bands were playing after the usual, a hand on my thigh with lines likes, your so beautiful, feel so good that a ‘musician got you’ (Ram) not an actor. I left not soon after. (1) https://t.co/Cfz8Hf4sdP

There are many predators in industry like Anu Malik: Sona

Sona Mohapatra, who has lauded women for speaking up against harassment, alleges that Bollywood has many sexual predators like Kailash Kher. She even accused music director Anu Malik of being a repeated offender. We wonder what Anu has to say in this regard.
