The younger brother of Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, was born in Bengaluru and completed his schooling at Army Public School, Ambala, and Bombay Scottish School, Mumbai. His sister, Rhea, was in a relationship with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and Chakraborty had started two companies with the couple. In 2019, they founded Vividrage RhealityX, a company related to Artificial Intelligence, experiential technology, exponential technology, and Mixed Reality. In 2020, they founded a non-profit organization named ‘Front India for World Foundation’ to help poor people and eradicate poverty, malnutrition, and hunger. Chakraborty came into the media limelight after the death of Rajput in June 2020. He was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with a drugs probe relating to the actor's death. It also came to light that Chakraborty took a whopping amount of money from Rajput for his flight and hotel stay expenses.
