What's the story
Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, which was released in June 2025, is all set to make its OTT debut on SonyLIV. The platform announced the same on Monday; no release date has been locked yet. Directed by RS Prasanna, it was a box office success and received positive reviews for its heartwarming narrative and performances. However, producer Khan had rejected OTT offers and put the film on YouTube for "democratizing Indian film distribution." But things seemed to have changed now.

Know the story of 'Sitaare Zameen Par'
Sitaare Zameen Par is a remake of the Spanish film Campeones. The story revolves around Gulshan Arora (played by Khan), an assistant coach for a prominent basketball team. His life takes an unexpected turn when he is sentenced to community service for drunk driving, which involves coaching a team of neurodivergent players. The film also stars Genelia Deshmukh, Ashish Pendse, Aroush Datta, Aayush Bhansali, Rishi Shahani, and Gopikrishnan K Varma among others.

Khan previously released film on his YouTube channel
In July 2025, a month after its theatrical release, Khan decided to skip traditional OTT platforms and released Sitaare Zameen Par directly on his YouTube channel Aamir Khan Talkies. This was done under a pay-per-view model where viewers paid around ₹100 per view. At the time, he had said it was an attempt to make cinema more accessible through a new digital distribution model.
