Legal dispute
The recent controversy surrounding 'Haq'
Earlier this month, Bano's daughter sent a legal notice to the makers and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). She alleged that Haq borrows heavily from her mother's life and legal battle without seeking the family's consent. However, the Madhya Pradesh High Court dismissed the petition to restrain the release. Justice Pranay Verma noted, "Privacy or reputation earned by a person during [their] lifetime extinguishes with his or her death. It cannot be inherited...like a movable or immovable property."
