Air India crash investigation targets engine thrust
Investigators are focusing on a possible engine thrust loss after an Air India Boeing 787-8 crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, claiming over 240 lives. The plane stopped sending data less than a minute into the flight, and attempts to reach the cockpit failed even after a Mayday call. Only one person survived, and teams are now digging through flight and cockpit data for answers.
Prime Minister Modi visits crash site, hospital
Prime Minister Modi visited both the crash site and hospital where victims were taken. Around 100 people on the ground were hurt—including 50 medical students—with four fatalities reported there. The lone survivor is a British national of Indian origin who escaped with minor injuries. This is the first fatal crash involving a Boeing 787 Dreamliner since its launch in 2011, and investigators are also checking for possible crew or maintenance issues.
