Average annual cost of schooling in Telangana revealed

India

Turns out, schooling in Telangana is getting pretty expensive for families.
A new government survey found that parents are spending an average of ₹13,767 a year for pre-primary, ₹20,703 for primary, and a hefty ₹30,326 for higher secondary education.
The survey covered 775 households in rural areas and 899 households in urban areas of Telangana, totaling 1,674 households, and really highlights just how much families are investing to educate their kids.

Urban vs rural, private vs government

Education costs aren't the same everywhere—urban families pay way more than those in rural areas (for example, pre-primary costs jump from ₹5,896 in villages to ₹21,897 in cities).
Private schools are also much pricier than government ones; in urban areas alone, private schooling averages over ₹41k per year.
Interestingly, about 63% of students in Telangana go to private schools—much higher than the national average—which means many families feel extra pressure to keep up with these rising costs.
