Central government employees await DA, DR hike
Central government employees and pensioners are still waiting for the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) hike—an update that usually drops by late September, just in time for Diwali.
This year, though, there's been no word yet.
While railway staff got a bonus on September 24, the government stayed silent about any DA/DR changes.
Last revision under current pay commission expected in January
DA/DR is a big deal because it helps salaries keep up with inflation—usually adjusted every six months.
A 3% bump is expected, moving it from 55% to 58% of basic pay or pension.
The delay has left many uneasy; SB Yadav from the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers voiced concern over the wait.
Plus, this could be the last revision under the current pay commission before bigger changes arrive in January 2026.
