Delhi: Car bomb blast near Red Fort metro station, 10 dead

India

A car bomb exploded near Delhi's Red Fort metro station on Monday evening, leaving 10 people dead and at least 24 injured.
The blast happened just as a Hyundai i20 stopped at a red light by Gate 1, setting off a fire that destroyed the car and damaged several other vehicles nearby.

Police investigating as suspected terror attack

The explosion was so strong it shattered windows in nearby buildings and could be heard from far away. Firefighters took about 40 minutes to control the blaze.
Police, along with NSG and NIA teams, are investigating this as a suspected terror attack.
Security has been tightened across Delhi and neighboring states, while embassies have issued alerts and expressed condolences for those affected.
