Sub-Divisional Officer (Ghatshila), Arvind Kumar Lal, said: "A large quantity of firecrackers were stored as well as being manufactured illegally. Somehow, the stored firecrackers caught fire." The incident took place when a large number of people gathered near the house, for the weekly market.

Bursting of firecrackers still taking place: SDO Lal

Sub-Divisional Officer, Arvind Kumar Lal, said that the wall of the house in which the illegal factory was being run has collapsed due to the blaze. He said several people, at least 5-6 people, are still trapped under the debris. Even as efforts to douse the flames are on, intermittent bursting of the firecrackers is taking place, added Lal.
