What's the story
Following restrictions on height of human pyramids and barring minors to participate in Dahi Handi festivals, petitioner Swati Patil told SC that human injuries during festival have significantly reduced since 2014. Based on data, 292 people got injured in 2014 from Mumbai and Thane. It dropped to 142 and then to 64 in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Tap in for more from Mumbai.

Actor Dilip Kumar being treated for dehydration in Mumbai hospital
Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar, admitted to Lilavati Hospital with kidney complications, will be shifted to ICU where he will be given medication through intravenous drip. Doctors said that Kumar is stable and was just suffering from dehydration. There is no other complication. 94-year-old veteran actor has acted in over 65 films including Devdas (1955), Naya Daur (1957), Mughal-e-Azam (1960), Ganga Jamuna (1961) etc.

Navi Mumbai airport to be completed by 2019
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said that authorities will finish working on the Navi Mumbai airport by December 2019 but the Sewri-Nhava Sheva Mumbai Trans Harbour Link will take another year to complete. The harbour link is crucial as it will make commute for passengers from Mumbai's island city to international airport convenient.

Mumbai: 15 minors sodomize 16-year-old boy in Andheri
In yet another glaring incident, 16-year-old boy, who studies in class-9, was sodomized by 15 minors in an open municipality ground in Andheri. After getting names of 15 minors from the traumatized victim, police nabbed seven of them while rest are absconding. Police said that most of them were either neighbours or school seniors and had been harassing the victim for past one year.

Police finds no evidence linking Bluewhale Challenge with teen's suicide
Cops investigating the suicide of 14-year-old boy from Andheri (East) have not found any evidence till now that could link the Blue Whale Challenge with his suicide. They have sent the boy's mobile phone to forensic science laboratory to find out if anything was deleted from the phone. But cops still haven't ruled out the link. They are awaiting reports for possible leads.

Building collapse: Govt gives Rs. 3lakh cheques to victim's kin
Maharashtra government gave compensation cheques of Rs. 3 lakh to next of kin of 17 people who died after Siddhi Sai building came crashing down in Ghatkopar last week. They will also receive cheques of Rs. 2 lakh from Prime Minister's relief fund. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sunil Shitap and interior designer Anil Mandal have been remanded to police custody till August 7.
