After apology spree, Kejriwal back to taunting PM Modi

On Tuesday, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal slammed PM Narendra Modi and BJP's plan to observe a day-long fast for the complete washout of the Parliament session. He tweeted, "Now that's really cute .... just one day fast... against himself." This mocking comes on the back of an apology marathon that Kejriwal undertook to get rid of the 30-odd defamation cases against him.

How have the "fasting" sessions progressed?

Two days back, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi led a day-long fast to oppose the rising "atrocities against Dalits, adivasis and minorities" under the Modi government. However, a picture of party leaders enjoying 'chhole-bhature' before the protest gave BJP enough ammunition to call the remonstration a sham. After the Parliament's Budget session ended in disruptions, now BJP has decided to fast on April 12.

How has the Congress reacted to Modi's fast?

Congress has called the upcoming fast by PM Modi and BJP a "farce." Spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said, "The fast should be to seek an apology from Dalits and the children whose lives have been jeopardized due to the CBSE and SSC scams." Even as they trade barbs, it remains to be seen if Congress and BJP make efforts to break the Parliament impasse.
