AI helps us decide what to eat, where to work

Technology

A new YouGov report says 81% of Indians spend more than three hours a day overthinking—often about simple stuff like replying to messages, picking what to eat, or posting on social media.
More people are now turning to AI tools to help with these daily decisions.

AI for advice on overthinking

Getting just an "Ok" from their boss is enough to make many respondents anxious.
Deciding what food to order stresses out 63% (especially in South India) even more than voting.
About one in three Indians now use AI like ChatGPT or Google AI for advice when they get stuck overthinking.

Social media is another big source of stress

AI is being used for everything from decoding texts and picking gifts to planning careers—showing how much we lean on tech for life's choices.
But social media is also a big source of stress: over 60% of Gen Z say it makes them anxious, with many admitting they delay checking stories or agonize over filters and captions just to avoid seeming too eager online.
