Bengaluru startup launches AI-driven waste segregation solution

AIsmart Bin, a Bengaluru startup, just introduced BinPro—an AI-powered bin that sorts your waste for you.
Unveiled at Tech Summit 2025, BinPro uses smart sensors and six compartments to automatically open the right slot for items like plastic, glass, or food scraps.
It's designed to make tossing trash way simpler and smarter.

How it works and what's next

BinPro claims up to 95% sorting accuracy and is set to pop up in busy spots like airports, malls, and railway stations.
Each unit holds at least 400-liter and costs between ₹40,000 and ₹1.5 lakh.
The team is also working on a new machine that uses AI imaging and robotics to sort mixed dry waste.
The company is currently developing this advanced system, with a patent application already underway.
