China just pulled off its 1st emergency space mission

On November 25, 2025, China launched the unmanned Shenzhou-22 to the Tiangong Space Station after a crack in their old return capsule, caused by suspected space debris, left astronauts without a safe way home.
Shenzhou-22 docked successfully and brought back some much-needed peace of mind for the crew.

What did Shenzhou-22 bring—and how fast was this?

The spacecraft delivered medical supplies, equipment to repair the window crack, spare parts, and even fresh food options for the astronauts.
Impressively, China pulled this off in just 16 days—way faster than their usual 45-day prep time.
Shenzhou-22 will hang out at the station until April 2026 to help bring the next crew back safely.
