DuckDuckGo adds Duck Player for private ad-free YouTube viewing

Technology Oct 02, 2026

DuckDuckGo just dropped a handy new tool called Duck Player in its browser, letting you watch YouTube videos without any ads getting in the way.

Launched with the July 2026 update (version 1.197.0), Duck Player also uses YouTube's strictest privacy settings to help keep your data safe while you binge.

Duck Player blocks cookies and ads

Besides blocking ads, Duck Player stops tracking cookies and personalized ads, so your viewing stays private.

It's available now for MacOS, Windows, Android, and iOS (sorry, Linux users, not yet).

To try it out, just grab the latest DuckDuckGo browser from its website or your app store.
