Fortnite arrives on the Xbox PC app next week
What's the story
Epic Games' popular battle royale title, Fortnite, will be available on the 'Xbox on PC' app starting November 18. Currently, players have to launch the game through the Epic Games Launcher on their PCs. However, with this new addition, those who prefer using the Xbox on PC app will also be able to access Fortnite easily.
Cross-platform compatibility
Fortnite joins Xbox Play Anywhere program
Along with its launch on the Xbox on PC app, Fortnite is also joining the Xbox Play Anywhere program. This means players' progress and purchases will be accessible across all platforms, including Xbox consoles, PCs, and supported gaming handhelds. Microsoft has highlighted this feature as a way to make gaming more convenient for users who want to switch between devices seamlessly.
Subscription benefits
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get Fortnite Crew
On November 18, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also get an extra perk: Epic's Fortnite Crew subscription. This subscription gives players a new skin and 1,000 V-Bucks every month. It also provides access to all of Fortnite's various battle passes, allowing players to earn items for use in different modes of the game.
