Gemini to function as Android assistant with 'Activity' disabled

Starting July 7, Android users can use the Gemini app to make calls, send messages, and handle basic tasks—all without their activity data being saved.
Until now, you had to let Google store your prompts and responses for these features to work.
This update is part of Google's move from Google Assistant to Gemini later this year.

TL;DR

What's changing?

Gemini keeps its core tools like "@Phone," "@Messages," "@WhatsApp," and "@Utilities" so you can still do all the essentials.
You get full control over your activity settings—turn extensions on or off as you like, and delete your history whenever.
It's a small but welcome step toward more privacy while keeping things convenient.
