Gmail on Android just got a handy upgrade—now you can preview attachments straight from your notification panel, no need to open the app.
Inspired by WhatsApp's notification style, this tweak is all about saving time and making things smoother for users.

How it works and when you'll get it

Instead of showing a snippet of the email body, notifications will now display an attachment preview.
You can tap to expand for a better look, but you'll still need to open the email for the full message.
The update started rolling out last week and is coming to everyone in phases as part of Google's push to make Gmail more user-friendly.
