Google Meet is now available on Play Store
Google has wrapped up its switch from Duo to Google Meet, a move that started back in 2022 and was completed by March 2026.
If you've noticed the old Duo banners and menus disappearing, that's why.
Some Duo features are gone
A few familiar Duo features like Knock Knock preview, Family mode, Mirror mode, and Moments are gone.
But Google's swapped them with similar tools, like device screenshots instead of Moments and improved lighting options replacing low-light mode, so you're not missing out.
What's new in Google Meet
Google Meet now packs extras like live captions, in-call chat, screen sharing, stackable effects, cloud encryption, hand-raising for group calls, and a better look on tablets.
Meet supports screen sharing and other presentation options; availability of windowing or multitasking behaviors varies by platform.
Some Meet releases include system audio sharing on certain desktop platforms; availability depends on OS and browser.
