How ISRO and AIIMS's space medicine research can help us
Technology
ISRO and AIIMS just signed a deal (in early March 2026) to dive into "space medicine," basically, figuring out how space affects the human body.
This partnership aims to keep astronauts healthier on big missions like India's future space station and moon trips.
Why is this research important?
Space isn't easy on people: think muscle loss, weird fluid shifts, even fast-forwarded aging thanks to microgravity.
By studying things like human physiology, genomics, brain health, and nutrition in these extreme conditions, scientists hope not only to protect astronauts but also invent technology that could help us here on earth (like better devices for circulation or muscle health).
