Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar meets Anthropic on responsible AI
Karnataka's Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar just sat down with folks from Anthropic to talk about bringing artificial intelligence into everything from government and education to healthcare and startups.
The state's big focus is on using AI responsibly: think strong data privacy and keeping control over local data.
They're also looking at launching new AI certification programs under the NIPUNA initiative and even plans for a proposed AI University to boost skills and innovation.
Karnataka seeks Anthropic Claude access
Karnataka pitched working together on healthcare tech, life sciences, and research with top places like IISc.
There are plans for secure ways to use government data, plus making sure local universities like VTU can get affordable access to Anthropic's Claude platform for hands-on learning.
The state also wants to help over 20,000 startups (especially in deep-tech) use AI better. It is also setting up special groups inside each department to figure out where AI can make the biggest impact in public services.
