Microsoft opens 'India South Central' cloud region in Hyderabad

Microsoft just launched its fourth cloud region in India: this one's in Hyderabad and called "India South Central."
It's designed to handle the country's growing need for AI, cloud services, and keeping data local.
With this launch, Microsoft now has cloud regions in Pune, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.
Microsoft commits $17.5B to Indian cloud
Major companies like Adani Group, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, and PB Pay are already using the new region for disaster recovery and AI projects.
Microsoft is doubling down on India with $17.5 billion committed by the end of 2025 to expand its cloud infrastructure.
Globally, its network spans over 500 data centers across 34 countries, with Indian IT firms alone adopting over 400,000 seats of Microsoft 365 Copilot as AI tools keep picking up speed.
