Netflix crashes during 'Stranger Things's Season 5 premiere

Technology

Netflix had a bit of a rough night on Wednesday as the highly anticipated Stranger Things Season 5 dropped.
The platform temporarily crashed for thousands of US viewers coinciding with the 8:00pm ET release, with over 14,000 outage reports flooding in.
Thankfully, Netflix said service recovered for all accounts within five minutes, and fans were back to binge-watching in no time.

Quick fix—and not the 1st time

Netflix confirmed that some folks streaming on their TVs hit snags but most were back online within five minutes.
This isn't new territory for Netflix—similar hiccups happened during big events like the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight and Love is Blind's livestream.
Despite these bumps, Stranger Things remains one of Netflix's biggest hits, ranked as its third-most popular English-language series globally.
