Nothing Phone (1) comes in White and Black colors. It starts at £399 for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 8GB/256GB variant will cost you £449. There is also a 12GB/256GB model that will become available later this year for £499.
The bezels on all the four sides on the Nothing Phone (1) are of the same size. This has been achieved by using a flexible OLED display and bending the display on the chin area to enclose some components which otherwise are hidden behind a thick bottom bezel.
The device packs a Snapdragon 778G+ chipset and a 4,500mAh battery with 33W wired, 15W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging support.
Carl Pei has just revealed that the launch event has been shot using Nothing Phone (1). Honestly, it looks pretty average. Apple has set the bar so high for launch events that everything looks bad. You heard us, Samsung.
Nothing Phone (1) has a 50MP main camera, which is a Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS support. The second unit is a 50MP Samsung JN1 with a 114-degree-wide lens. It supports 4K video recording and a red-colored LED on the rear side blinks to reflect that recording is in progress.
From using a lighter material like aluminium instead of steel for the frame to offering a 'lite' skin on top of Android, Nothing is focusing on a stable and smooth user experience. Tesla owners will also get few cool features for remote controlling some functions of the car.
Nothing is doing things differently. The event is live and it looks 'nothing' like how one would have expected. Perhaps, that is the company's vision. To do the unexpected. To be different. To be fresh. For all we know, Nothing likes Kitkat.
Thanks to leaks, official teasers, and early previews by famous tech YouTubers, we know how the Nothing Phone (1) looks like. It has a left-aligned punch-hole cut-out for the selfie camera, slim and symmetrical bezels, an aluminium frame with flat rails (similar to iPhone 12 and 13 models), and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The rear side gets a unique look with exposed screws and components along with customizable LEDs visible through the transparent glass.
Nothing, led by Carl Pei we all know as one of the co-founders of OnePlus, is set to announce its first-ever smartphone, called the Nothing Phone (1). The company is hosting a dedicated live event which will kick off in India at 8:30pm.
