OpenAI drops 'ChatGPT Images' to take on Google's Nano Banana

OpenAI just rolled out ChatGPT Images, letting you create and edit images right from the ChatGPT mobile app.
It's a direct answer to Google's popular Nano Banana tool, but with its own twist—there's a dedicated "images" mode for more accurate editing and creation.

ChatGPT Images lets you start fresh or tweak existing pics, plus it has special features for refining layouts.
The AI image market is booming (expected to hit $61 billion by 2030), so this move puts OpenAI in direct competition with Google and Adobe Firefly.
While Nano Banana took off fast with over 13 million users in four days, both tools still need to sort out copyright protection and support for different languages as they grow.
