What's the story

Redmi will launch its latest gaming smartphone, the K40 Game Enhanced Edition in China on April 27. It will join the recently-launched Redmi K40 series. As for the highlights, the device will have a 144Hz AMOLED display, a triple rear camera setup, and triggers for gaming. It shall offer support for 67W fast-charging. Here are more details.

Design and display

The device will boast of a 144Hz E4 AMOLED display

The Redmi K40 Enhanced Gaming Edition will sport a center-aligned punch-hole cut-out with slim bezels, metal frame, and side-mounted trigger buttons as well as a fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it will house a triple camera setup with LED lights surrounding the top and bottom lenses. The handset is likely to bear a 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate.

It will feature a 64MP primary camera

The Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will pack a triple rear camera module comprising a 64MP main sensor and a laser autofocus system. Details regarding the other two lenses and the front snapper are not known at the moment.

The handset will offer support for 67W fast-charging

The Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will draw power from a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. Details regarding the RAM and storage variants are yet to be revealed. It may run on Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 and pack a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast-charging support. It will also offer a dedicated Call of Duty theme, haptic vibrations, and support for the 5G network.

The official pricing and availability details of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will be announced at April 27 launch event. However, for reference, the top-end model of the K40 series, the K40 Pro+ is priced at CNY 3,699 (around Rs. 43,000).

Standard Edition

Alleged Redmi Game 'Standard' Edition spotted on Master Lu benchmarks

Separately, as per a post by Master Lu on Weibo, Redmi's latest gaming smartphone will arrive in two versions- Enhanced and Standard. The K40 Game Standard Edition, with model number M2104K10AC, is claimed to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is also said to feature a Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) display.
