Ryanair stops accepting paper boarding passes: What it means
Technology
Ryanair just made a big switch: starting November 12, 2025, you can't use printed boarding passes anymore.
Everyone now needs to check in online and use a digital pass—no more paper at the airport.
The airline says this move will make travel faster and help keep ticket prices low.
New fees and old ones go up
Already, 90% of Ryanair's 206 million passengers use e-boarding passes, but if you don't check in online, you'll face new fees—airport check-in could cost up to £55.
On the bright side, if you've checked in online but can't pull up your pass at the airport, Ryanair will now help you for free (it used to cost £20).
This is all part of their plan to be more efficient and eco-friendly with lower carbon emissions.
