Shubhanshu Shukla shares emotional moment in space
Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla just became the first Indian in 41 years to join a human spaceflight, riding aboard SpaceX's Dragon capsule for Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4).
During a live update from orbit, he was seen comforting his Hungarian crewmate Tibor Kapu with a supportive hug—a moment shared on social media through official channels.
TL;DR
Mission brings together an international crew
Shukla called his experience on the Dragon capsule "magical" and said he was eager to get started.
Alongside him are Commander Peggy Whitson (USA) and Mission Specialist Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski (Poland).
This mission not only brings together an international crew but also marks India's big return to human spaceflight since Rakesh Sharma's iconic trip in 1984.
