Snapchat now charges for Memories storage

Technology

Snapchat just put a cap on free Memories storage—now you only get 5GB before you have to pay.
If you need more space for your snaps and videos, you'll need to subscribe.
The company says this update is about handling the huge growth in Memories and making sure users have options for saving content long-term.

New pricing structure

If 5GB isn't enough, there's a new 'Memories' plan at $1.99/month for 100GB.
Snapchat+ subscribers ($3.99/month) now get up to 250GB included, and there's even a Platinum tier with an enormous 5TB at $15.99/month.
Some users aren't thrilled about paying for extra space, but it lines up with what other big apps like Google and Apple already do with cloud storage.
