TSMC could begin mass producing 1.6nm A16 chips late 2026

TSMC could begin mass-producing its new 1.6nm chips in the last quarter of 2026.

These A16 chips could debut with about 8% higher density, 10% better performance, and use 15% less power than today's 2nm technology.

Instead of powering your phone, these are built mainly for AI and "high-performance computing."

Qualcomm MediaTek expected 2nm launches 2026

Qualcomm and MediaTek are expected to launch their own advanced chips using TSMC's 2nm process in 2026.

Meanwhile, TSMC is already working on an even smaller, faster chip process for future devices.
