WhatsApp expands business features with AI, ads, and calls
WhatsApp just dropped some big updates for its Business Platform: built-in ad management across Meta apps, AI-powered customer support, and new voice/video calling.
Announced at the Conversations event, these features are all about making it simpler for businesses to connect and market to their customers.
Now, businesses can run campaigns on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram from a single place—using subscriber lists and Meta's Advantage+ AI.
The new AI support answers questions automatically, suggests products, and even helps complete purchases.
This is live in Mexico now but rolling out worldwide soon.
Now you can call your customers on WhatsApp
With the latest update, businesses can chat with customers instantly via calls—even for things like telehealth.
Heads up: from July 1, 2025, WhatsApp will charge per message (depending on category/location), but you'll still get free replies if you message first within 24 hours.
What's new on WhatsApp Business
WhatsApp Business already had handy tools like catalogs. With these new features—especially the built-in AI—it's bringing ads, messaging, and support together in one spot.
