A look at the rising stars of European football

The 2019-20 European football season is not far away and at the moment, the teams are busy with their pre-season tour. Like every season, there is an excitement surrounding young footballers who could go on to dictate the proceedings in the near future. As the clubs are busy with acquiring young talents, here we list down five rising stars of European football.

Daniel James could light up the proceedings

Welshman Daniel James joined Manchester United from Swansea over the summer. The promising youngster has all the attributes to shine in the Premier League. He is a proper forward who has pace, dribbling skills and can press aggressively. James enjoyed an excellent season with Swansea in 2017-18. He needs to stay calm and patient to light up the proceedings at Old Trafford.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will look to continue his good work

Aaron Wan-Bissaka made his Premier League debut for Crystal Palace in 2017-18. But he grew in prominence last term. He appeared in 39 games for Palace and quickly established himself. The right-back, who has joined Manchester United, will look forward to continue his solid work. Wan-Bissaka is superb in one-on-one defensive situations. Notably, last season he had the most successful tackles in EPL (129).

Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi can bring in the much-required impetus

Callum Hudson-Odoi has gone on to become a rising star in a short span of time. The England international broke into the Chelsea side in 2018-19 and scored five goals in 24 appearances. He is a proper winger who has great pace. Hudson-Odoi can thrive in an attacking style of play and this season is massive for him. Interestingly, Bayern Munich are chasing Hudson-Odoi.

Joao Felix is touted to be the next big superstar

19-year-old sensation Joao Felix was signed by Atletico Madrid for a staggering £113 mn. Felix has huge potential to shine as a forward. He had made his debut at the senior level last season for Benfica. The play-maker is extremely intelligent and quick. His passing qualities and creativity should not be ignored. Felix is versatile and can play higher up the pitch.

Dutchman Matthijs de Ligt is regarded highly

19-year-old Matthijs de Ligt is all set to sign for Juventus from Ajax. The center-back was the cynosure of all eyes during the breakthrough 2018-19 campaign. He ruled the summer transfer window headlines with several top clubs chasing him. He is strong physically and mentally. This allows him to play with freedom. He is smart with his positioning as well as tactically sound.
