  • England have clinched the ODI series, after a 16 run victory over Australia in Sydney.

    The visitors posted 302-6 riding on the back of Jos Buttler's unbeaten century.

    In reply, Australia could only manage 286-6.

    Australia have lost the first three matches of an ODI series for the first time on home soil.

    The Irishman has now scored 1,628 runs and his ahead of the likes of Ponting (1,598) Michael Clarke (1,430), Graham Gooch (1,395), Shane Watson (1,306), Allan Border (1,302), Ian Bell (1,148) and Adam Gilchrist (1,087).

    The 31-year-old surpassed former captain and all-rounder, Paul Collingwood's tally of 5,092 career ODI runs.

    Only Ian Bell has scored more ODI runs for England with 5,416 runs to his name.

    With 5,120 runs to his name already, Morgan is likely to surpass Bell by the end of the year.
