#IndiaInAustralia: Three key moments of day two of first Test

The Indian cricket team salvaged the show after a poor outing with the bat against Australia. On the second day of the first Test held in Adelaide, India need to be credited for shining with the ball and picking seven Australian wickets. The Aussies trail India by 59 runs after ending the day on 191/7. Here are the key things that defined today's play.

Australia trail India by 59 runs

Travis Head (61*) has led the fight for the Aussies against India. Besides him, the likes of Peter Handscomb (34), Khawaja (28) and Marcus Harris (26) got starts. From 127/6, Australia rallied on to get to 191/7. For India, R Ashwin picked three wickets.

Bumrah, Ishant lead the show with pace

India got crucial wickets with two of their pacers leading the show. Both Jasprit Bumrah (2/34) and Ishant Sharma (2/31) bowled in tight channels and worked together. JB got two key wickets in crucial times just when players like Handscomb and Pat Cummins threatened to cause problems. Ishant set the tempo with Aaron Finch's scalp upfront. They worked well in tandem.

Head takes a leaf out from Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara was solid for India on the first day of the Test match and it was his hundred that rescued the team. Today, Aussie batsman Travis Head played a similar role for his side. His unbeaten 61-run-knock helped the hosts show some character. The 50-run stand between Head and Cummins gave us similar glimpses of the partnership Pujara and Ash shared on Thursday.

    Terrific Ash shows his mettle

R Ashwin showed how much he has grown as a premier spinner to put in a shift on Australian soil. The off-spinner picked three wickets and was handed a total of 33 overs by skipper Virat Kohli. Ash extracted what was on offer and caused issues for the opposition camp. He did not set a foot wrong and showed his dominance against left-handed batsmen.
