Delhi Daredevils vs Mumbai Indians: Preview, head-to-head and Fantasy XI

Delhi Daredevils will be up against Mumbai Indians in match number 55 of 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL). Delhi come from a stunning victory against Chennai Super Kings and will look to sign off at home with a win. A loss for Mumbai will end their qualification hopes for the play-offs and this will keep Rohit's boys motivated. Here's our pre-match report.

Both teams almost at par in head-to-head

The two sides have met 21 times in the history of Indian Premier League. Mumbai lead Delhi by a 11-10 margin in overall meetings. At Kotla, it's Delhi that have a 5-3 advantage. When the two sides met earlier this season, DD defeated MI as a stunning knock from Jason Roy helped them chase down a mammoth total. Will DD repeat those heroics?

Probable Playing XI - Delhi Daredevils

Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer (captain), Glenn Maxwell, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Vijay Shankar, Harshal Patel, Abhishek Sharma, Amit Mishra, Trent Boult, Avesh Khan and Sandeep Lamichhane.

Probable Playing XI - Mumbai Indians

Suryakumar Yadav, Evin Lewis, Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Rohit Sharma (captain), Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Ben Cutting, Jasprit Bumrah, Mayank Markande and Mitchell McClenaghan.

Runs expected to flow at the Kotla

The pitch at Kotla is expected to be batsmen friendly. However, it would assist spinners as well. Delhi will go in with more positivity after what they have seen Sandeep perform in the last match. With veteran Amit Mishra in XI as well, they will want to tie down MI batsmen. The conditions are set to be hot given it's an afternoon start.

Stat box - DD vs MI

Rohit Sharma has only managed to win five tosses out of 13 matches this season. Delhi's opening batsmen have had a poor season with average opening stand of 17.38. MI have taken 88 wickets this season, which is the highest by any team. MI also have the best bowling average (23.95). Amit Mishra has dismissed Rohit five times in IPL.

Fantasy XI - A guide to the best possible line-up

In-form batsman Rishabh Pant gets our nod as the captain of the Fantasy XI and MI star bowler Jasprit Bumrah is the vice-captain. The batting line-up consists of Rohit Sharma, Prithvi Shaw, Evin Lewis and Suryakumar Yadav. We go with two all-rounders in the form of Hardik and Krunal Pandya. Harshal Patel leads an interesting bowling line-up with Trent Boult and Sandeep Lamichhane.
