What's the story

Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah scripted history by completing 100 T20I wickets on December 9. Bumrah became the second Indian to achieve this landmark during the 1st T20I against South Africa at Cuttack's Barabati Stadium. The right-arm seamer, who powered India's 101-run win with two wickets, now has 100 scalps in each of the three formats. Here are the players with this unique record.

#1

Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka)

In September 2019, Sri Lanka's Lasith Malinga became the first bowler with a century of wickets in all three formats. He scripted history by becoming the first bowler to take 100 T20I wickets. In a stellar career, Malinga took 107 T20I wickets, 101 Test wickets, and 338 ODI wickets. The former pacer also has five international hat-tricks (ODIs: 3 and T20Is: 2).

#2

Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh)

During the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup, Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan joined Malinga as the second bowler with 100 wickets in every format. The former remains the only spinner on this list. He attained the feat with his 100th T20I wicket. According to ESPNcricinfo, Shakib owns 149 T20I, 317 ODI, and 246 Test wickets. He also has over 2,500 runs in all three formats.

#3

Tim Southee (New Zealand)

A few days later, New Zealand's Tim Southee joined Malinga and Shakib as the third bowler with 100 T20I wickets. He, therefore, completed the milestone of 100 scalps in each of the three formats. Southee retired with 391 wickets from 107 Tests at an average of 30.26 (15 fifers). He also took 221 ODI wickets at 33.70. In 126 T20Is, Southee has 164 wickets.

#4

Shaheen Afridi (Pakistan)

In December last year, Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi reached 100 T20I scalps after taking a three-fer versus South Africa in the 1st T20I at Kingsmead, Durban. The left-arm seamer completed the century of wickets in the third and final format. Shaheen currently has 121 wickets from 33 Tests at 27.91. He also owns 135 wickets at 25.04 in the 50-over format.

#5

Jasprit Bumrah (India)

Jasprit Bumrah is the latest entrant and the only Indian in this profound club. He is now one of only two Indians with 100-plus wickets in T20I cricket, joining Arshdeep Singh. One of the most lethal pacers across formats, Bumrah has accounted for 149 wickets from 89 ODIs at an average of 23.55. He also owns 234 wickets in 52 Tests at 19.79.
