Premier League, Sheffield United get relegated: The key numbers

Premier League side Sheffield United have got relegated after losing 1-0 against Wolves away from home. The Blades have been demoted to the Championship after 32 games in the Premier League this season. With six games to go, Sheffield United will now hope to play without pressure and offer something vital. They have been terrible this season and they deserved the relegation.

    Wolves get the only goal

Wolves got the only goal in a game of few chances. Willian Jose scored the goal after Adama Traore created room close to the goal-line and delivered a low cross into the six-yard box. Jose, who signed from Real Sociedad on loan in January, scored in what was his 11th game. The Blades forced an excellent save from Rui Patricio after going down.

    Unwanted records for the Blades

The Blades collected just 14 points from 32 games. As per Opta, only Sunderland in 2005-06 and Derby in 2007-08 (11 points each) have had fewer points on the board after 32 games in a Premier League season. They lost their 26th league game of the season and have equaled their record number of league defeats in a single season (1975-76 and 2010-11).

Joint-earliest relegation for Wolves in Premier League history

As per Opta, with six games remaining, Sheffield United have suffered the joint-earliest relegation in Premier League history, alongside Ipswich Town (1994-95), Derby County (2007-08), and Huddersfield Town (2018-19).

Sheffield United's story so far this season

Sheffiled United have registered four wins, two draws, and 26 losses this season. They have scored only 17 goals (lowest), besides conceding 56 (joint-second highest). They have the worst goal difference in the Premier League (-39). After beating Aston Villa on March 3, they have suffered five successive Premier League defeats and six across competitions.
