Sandeep Warrier, a fast bowler, made his debut against Sri Lanka in the third T20I on July 29, 2021, in Colombo. Warrier, who had been traveling with the rest of the team as a net bowler, was recruited into the main squad on the previous day after COVID-19 prompted nine players to be isolated. Warrier's fondest desire was realized a day later when he was presented with his India cap by bowling coach Paras Mhambrey ahead of the series decider. After waiting a long time, Warrier is now known as a right-arm bowler with impressive speed and technique of bowling. He has previously played for Kolkata Knight Riders.
