What's the story

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 has seen some new records being made in the history of the game. Batsmen, bowlers and teams have all been in the thick of records broken. But there have been certain records that will not make players happy and proud. Here we look at some of the unwanted records broken in this season of IPL.

Costly

When Thampi went to the cleaners

Basil Thampi had impressed one and all with his excellent bowling at the death in the limited opportunities till now. However, against RCB on Thursday, he saw his name registered in the record books for the wrong reasons. 4-0-70-0 read Thampi's figures against RCB. He crossed Ishant Sharma's earlier record for the worst figures in IPL. Ishant had registered 4-0-66-0 against CSK in 2013.

Struggling

Yuvi's batting has let him down

Yuvraj Singh has created a record that he wouldn't be happy about. IPL 2018 has been Yuvraj's worst season as he has managed only 65 runs in eight matches. In every season till now, Yuvi had always managed to score in excess of 200 runs. His strike-rate of 89.04 is the worst by any batsman who has faced 70+ balls this campaign.

KL Rahul's 48-ball fifty against RR is the slowest fifty in this edition of IPL. He shares the record with Manish Pandey. KXIP's score of 88 against RCB is the lowest ever managed in Indore.

The curious case of Rohit 'Hitman' Sharma

Rohit Sharma has been dismissed on a duck 3 times this term, the highest in 2018. He shares this unwanted record with his Mumbai team-mate Ishan Kishan. Overall, Gibbs (2009), Manhas (2011) and Pandey (2012) have four ducks to their name in a single season.
