I'm extremely poor: UK man steals student's laptop, sends apology

There are few moments in life which make our hearts skip a beat- seconds before exam results, Bradley Cooper's eyes and when you realize somebody stole your iPhone or laptop. And when you know you're not getting it back, it hurts a little more. In an unexpected twist, a man in the UK received an apology-email from the thief who stole his laptop, saying he was poor.

Thief tries to 'make up', leaves wallet and phone behind

On Tuesday, a Twitter user, Stevie Valentine, a Birmingham resident, shared a post revealing how his flatmate received an email from the thief who stole his laptop. In the email, the thief said he is apologetic for his act but did it because he was extremely poor. He also tried to 'make up' for his theft by leaving behind the man's wallet and phone.

    Here is the generous note

So my flat mates laptop got stolen today, please pree what the thief sent him šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ pic.twitter.com/pDhhpmncPz

Thief also offered to return university files in the laptop

The considerate thief also took cognizance of the fact that the laptop owner was a student. Thus, he offered to return him his university files in case the owner needed it. His email read, "If there are any files such as university work on here that you need, let me know and I will send them to you here.[sic]"

Twitterati is loving the thief, bombards post with funny comments

The kind thief left the internet in a frenzy. Twitterati had a lot to say. Netizens have bombarded the post with hilarious comments. One wrote, "He should have signed the letter: Yours thiefly." While others kept pouring in ideas, as someone wrote, "Just buy the laptop back from him. He needs the money." Stevie's tweet was retweeted 20,000 times, at the time of press.

Let's hope the laptop owner's professors understand

It seems like Jeffery Archer just found the sequel of his novel as the thief clearly showed that there is Honour Among Thieves. There is no doubt that the thief was actually guilty and has now won hearts through his utterly sweet apology. And, the laptop owner? Well, he's still not getting it back. Let's just hope his professors cut him some slack.
