Audi ranks lowest in initial quality study
Audi landed at the bottom of J.D. Power's 2025 car quality rankings, with owners reporting 269 problems for every 100 vehicles—much higher than the industry average of 192.
The study, based on feedback from nearly 93,000 drivers, highlights that even luxury brands can have their struggles.
Lexus topped the rankings this year
Lexus took the top spot for quality this year, followed by Nissan. Surprisingly, Nissan outperformed many luxury brands too.
On the flip side, Volvo and Infiniti joined Audi with more reported issues.
Common complaints included glitchy touchscreen controls and cupholders that just don't fit.
Audi admits to ongoing quality issues
Audi has openly admitted to these ongoing quality issues and says it's working to do better in future models—a move that could help rebuild trust with drivers looking for fewer headaches down the road.
