BYD's new Blade Battery charges from 10% to 97% in
BYD's next-generation Blade Battery is here, and it's seriously fast, charging from 10% to 97% in only nine minutes.
Even in freezing conditions (minus 30 Celsius), it powers up from 20% to 97% in just 12 minutes, which is way quicker than most electric vehicle batteries out there.
It packs more energy and supports higher charge/discharge rates
This battery packs more energy (190-210 Wh/kg) and supports substantially higher charge and discharge rates than the previous generation, enabling ultra-fast charging (for example, 10-70% in about five minutes) and high peak discharge performance.
It'll be rolling out soon in 10 BYD models, including the Yangwang U7 and Denza Z9GT.
BYD plans to install 20,000 ultra-fast Flash chargers across China; global rollout is set to begin by the end of 2026.
Safety-wise, BYD says it passed tough tests, like nail penetration after hundreds of cycles, without catching fire.
Plus, you get a lifetime cell warranty for extra peace of mind.
