Tesla is officially setting up shop in India, opening its first center at Gurugram's Orchid Business Park on November 26.
This comes after rolling out experience centers in Mumbai and Delhi, and now the Model Y—imported from Shanghai—is available starting at ₹59.89 lakh.
Other details:
Even with the steep price tag, Tesla managed to sell 104 cars in India during September and October.
Globally though, things are a bit rocky—sales growth has slowed, and numbers in China have hit a three-year low as of October 2025.
To boost its chances here, Tesla just brought on Sharad Agarwal (ex-Lamborghini, Audi, and Classic Legends) as the new India head.
He'll be taking on a market where Mercedes-Benz and BMW already own about 80% of luxury EV sales.
