Anthropic's Amodei apologizes after internal memo criticizing Trump leaked
Anthropic's CEO, Dario Amodei, has apologized after a recent internal memo criticizing the Trump administration leaked.
This comes just as the Pentagon labeled Anthropic a "supply chain risk," a move Amodei plans to challenge in court.
He called the memo outdated and apologized for the memo.
Memo leak raises questions amid $200 million DoD AI contract
The leak occurred after Anthropic had signed a $200 million deal with the US Department of Defense to bring AI into military projects, raising questions about AI in weapons.
Meanwhile, rival OpenAI announced its own defense contract.
Amodei had previously called OpenAI's approach "safety theater," but later said OpenAI may have 'improved' the terms of the contract.
Anthropic is now trying to smooth things over with the Pentagon while fighting its new label in court.
