Zepto lays off 300 employees in latest restructuring

Business

Zepto, the quick commerce startup, has reassigned 300 employees to third-party service providers as part of a bigger cost-cutting plan.
Since the beginning of the year, about 1,000 roles have been impacted by restructuring and automation—especially in customer support.
This shake-up comes just after Zepto's $450 million funding round that pushed its valuation to $7 billion.

The company is also reducing its spending on cloud services

To save more money, Zepto is cutting back on spending for cloud services like AWS and building its own tech solutions instead.
At an employee town hall on October 17, CEO Aadit Palicha stressed that hiring will be tightly controlled and said the goal is to double business output with the current team of around 5,700 people.
The company is also automating tasks like real estate management and invoice processing to stay efficient while growing sustainably.
