Tamang's career and personal life

Tamang was born in Darjeeling, West Bengal, and joined the Kolkata Police as a constable after his father's death. He pursued his passion for music by performing with the police orchestra. His big break came when he auditioned for Indian Idol Season 3 in 2007. After winning, he released his debut album Dhanyavad and also ventured into acting, primarily in Nepali cinema. He will reportedly posthumously feature in Salman Khan's Battle of Galwan.
