What's the story

The much-awaited film, Dhurandhar 2, has reportedly set a new record by selling tickets worth ₹4 crore within just two hours of its trailer's release. The advance bookings for the opening day alone have been nothing short of historic, with over 10,000 tickets being sold per hour on BookMyShow, as per Bollywood Hungama. Currently, bookings are open on BMS for the paid previews on March 18, which will begin from 5:00pm. The film will release worldwide on March 19.

Record-breaking potential

'Dhurandhar 2' on track to break all-time high record

The film, which stars Ranveer Singh and is helmed by Aditya Dhar, has reportedly sold around 35,000 tickets (and counting) in national chains like PVR Inox and Cinepolis. This puts it on track to potentially break an all-time high record of over one lakh sales within 24 hours. If achieved, Dhurandhar 2 will be the first film to organically clock such a feat without any corporate or fan show bookings.

Overseas success

'Dhurandhar 2' tops advance booking charts in North America

In addition to its domestic success, Dhurandhar 2 has also set a new record at the North American box office with its advance bookings, as per the data shared by Venky Box Office. The movie has already surpassed the opening-day collection of its predecessor, Dhurandhar. Despite being less than two weeks away from its release, the sequel has reportedly earned around $565K in premiere advance bookings.

Record challenge

Ticket demand surges as more shows are added

Alongside Singh, the film also features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, among others. Another factor boosting its prospects is the postponement of Yash's much-anticipated film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. Dhurandhar 2 will release in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
