BO clash: It's 'Nikamma' v/s 'Doctor G' on June 17
Nikamma finally gets a release date. Starring Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Abhimanyu Dassani, and Shirley Setia, the fun-filled action entertainer is gearing up for a theatrical outing on June 17. This means, it will be engaged in a direct clash with Doctor G, which has been directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and produced by Junglee Pictures. Sabbir Khan (Heropanti and Baaghi) has directed Nikamma.
- To note, Nikamma marks Shetty Kundra's comeback to the cinema halls after 15 long years. Her last film Hungama 2 (2021) did not get a theatrical premiere and was streamed directly on Disney+ Hotstar to mostly negative reviews.
- Also, Nikamma will be Dassani's return to the theaters after Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2018).
- Further, this box office clash is an interesting development.
While informing all about the date on her social media handles, Shetty Kundra wrote, "Ab intezaar khatam aur entertainment Shuru! (It's the end of waiting and start of entertainment)." Khan, on his part, said, "The whole team has been waiting patiently for the times to be right for the world and I am just happy to see our film finally getting a theatrical release."

"The fresh new pairing of Abhimanyu and Shirley will surprise everyone, with Shilpa in a totally different avatar. I hope the audiences show love for Abhi and Shirley," Khan further said. "Working on this film has been an adventure. Nikamma is a total family entertainer that is best enjoyed in a community viewing experience of a theater with popcorn and samosas," Dassani shared.
Now, let's talk of its competitor, Doctor G. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, and Shefali Shah as doctors, the Bollywood film marks Khurrana's third collaboration with Junglee Pictures, after Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017) and Badhaai Ho (2018). It's the first time Khurrana will don the doctor's coat and like all of his films, this one will deliver a social message as well.
