Umesh Shukla debunks PK vs OMG rumours
Umesh Shukla, director of OMG - Oh My God!, has cleared up rumors that PK's team tried to pay him ₹8 crore to halt his film. "Those were just rumors. Nothing like that actually happened," he told a leading daily, adding that PK's creators are talented individuals who wouldn't do such a thing.
No interference from 'PK' team, says Shukla
Shukla admitted it's natural for movies on similar topics to overlap a bit, but stressed there was no interference from PK's side. His comments match what Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan have said before—both films developed independently.
'OMG—Oh My God!' and its sequel
Released in 2012, OMG tackled the commercialization of religion and starred Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. The film won a National Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and even got a sequel in 2023. Shukla is known for blending social issues with mainstream cinema.
